Service Description

Youth Development Academy Welcome to the YDA program at GRO-3. At GRO-3 we believe in fundamentals and a strong foundation. In this program these young athletes will: • Learn the fundamentals of the golf swing. • Learn the ideal ways to become successful on the golf course. • Learn to manage their emotions and their bag. • Learn to have fun and how to enjoy competition. • Learn how to contribute in a “non-team” atmosphere. But most importantly, they will learn how golf will impact and contribute to their lives as they grow and mature. Within this program they will be offered the following: • Once a month they will have a 50-minute swing lesson utilizing video and technology to help teach/guide them to the proper swing mechanics • Monthly, they will have 3/ 20–30-minute progression check-ins with the lead instructor. • Real turf and matt access for practicing, on the private side of the range; range balls included. • A free club/ball assessment and fitting when identified. • Direction in proper stretching and fitness techniques • Twice a month they will play 9 holes and record scores and stats (help from an instructor will be provided if needed). Internal competitions amongst academy players by age/playing ability. • USGA rules class. • Quarterly 9 hole playing lesson with lead instructor. • Quarterly Short game skills testing with progression awards. This program is designed to create and build great young men and women. It is designed to laugh and have fun while learning, constantly. It is designed to reward and build confidence in our youth. At GRO-3, we strive to help unlock the best potential from each of our students. We strive for greatness, not perfection! The academy is designed for ages 10-17. Each potential student needs an evaluation for entry to the academy. Post-eval, a determination will be made that is the best direction for this student; entry to the academy or possibly some starting individual lessons as a first step. **If your YDA player is recognized as potentially having what it takes to play at a collegiate level, we will schedule that conversation with the parents/guardian and determine if alternative options are available to increase the training of the player.
